I personally have never been very successful using nesting and pm type of variable. The only way I have gotten this to work is with a pm type of fixed but since is it is meter based it needs to be variable. I also have never tried to do this with a meter based pm. I know you said the nesting reference and such is set up of the different pms with the same equipment but does the minor get by passes if the major comes out before it or in the same window of reading?
No, it does not, that is our problem. Higher PM’s release and the lower PM’s will stay awaiting. This of course leads to lower PM’s releasing shortly after Higher PM’s are completed, when they do not need to be performed.
I can tell you this system used to work fine until we did an upgrade a few years ago. Since then it has been a battle to get it fixed. I just recently made it into the Planner position where I can do something about this. I would love the opportunity to talk with you or someone about how to get the system back online. Buffers seem to be the culprit. Is there a way to eliminate the buffers and have the lower PM’s bypass regardless?
Yes, we have the nesting reference, the type - variable and the equipment added. We have tried everything from the default 25 on the buffers and currently have no buffers.

yes, the buffers do matter as well. Also, nesting reference, type of pms and equipment. Do you have the nesting working currently?
